Re: First Effort - Obama Gun Ban

Most of the stuff I get from the NRA is pretty lame but I thought this was hilarious:

I'm glad they did this, and here's why:

The Takers have already shown that they are dilusional by asserting that guns create violence. They have further asserted their dillusions by thinking that making 300,000 guns unavailable to the public will even put a dent in the number of guns in the US.

300,000 guns is about .3 percent of all guns in the US. All they are doing is making it harder on themselves. For all of the furror that this will create in the public arena, is it really worth it for the socialists just so they can keep the number of guns from increasing by a fraction of a percent? Especially when gun sales are at an all time high? FOr each gun they keep out of our hands, it means 5 voters that will turn against them (probably an exagerated number but you get the point).

Just keep diggin your graves, dumbasses. See you in November!

imho, dont run just walk especially if you are over weight.     Unless you want to destroy your knees and hips.
WHen I used to run a lot, people would say to me, "you shouldn't run so much, it's terible for your knees/back/hips/feet/ankles. You're going to wreck your body." My response was always, "You know what else is really bad for your legs? Diabetes."

I don't disagree with what you said, 3xgutshot. In fact, I don't think there is any set of running shoes out there that is designed to support an individual that weighs more than 170 lbs. When I was in my best running condition I was at 185, I was a pretty slender guy. But what do you do? I'd rather enjoy wearing out my legs and joints.

Can't go wrong with a Glock, however you know me, Springfield XD subcompact and don't look back.

My family is beginning to sway me towards Glock. I don't care for the dovetail safety and the Glock has a positive trigger reset. You feel a solid *click* as you release the triigger. I still like the grip angle of the XD and disassembly. The newer Glocks have a great grip texture.

Late last winter I was set to purchase my first handgun and with research, my preference was going to be too purchase a stainless SR9 till I read the link to the following thread - http://www.fishingbuddy.com/conseal_and_carry_help/?commentId=345276 then I purchased a XD9 SC and haven't looked back, been very happy with the choice.

Thanks for reviving that thread mossymo. I love the way Jiffy's @$$ looks in those pics. *wink*

You should be allowed to carry (either concealed or open) anywhere in the USA. What is it about "shall not be infringed" that people do not understand?

The 2nd amendment is my permit.

Why stop with gun laws? Put your money where your mouth is and stop paying federal income taxes as well.

were those groups offhand or bench ?

From my experience I'd guess it's a pickup truck door made into a shooting bench. No other way to get that kind of accuracy. The only reason we can't shoot from the truck during the season is because of the lies perpetuated by the G&F. That's the man for you, always trying to keep you down.
Re: Valencia Was Safe!

I don't like instant replay in baseball. It makes sense because the refs have to watch 22 guys slamming into each other and sprinting across a football field. In baseball you have several guys watching one ball.

Also, I think if you're always questioning the credibility of the calls that an umpire makes, you shake his confidence in his ability to make the call. It may lead to a lot of mediocre umps. I don't know about you, but I'm really impressed with MLB umps. I can't begin to fathom how those guys can make such close calls and get it right 95% of the time.

Re: Bowhunters and Game Wardens
on 2010-08-19 16:34:53
I've been checked by numerous wardens on numerous occasions in diferent areas of the state. All positive encounters.

If you want to stay out of trouble with a warden there are a few things you can do to deflate the situation before there is ever a situation at all:

1. Acknowledge the warden. Approach the warden before he/she approaches you. If you initiate contact, it's obvious you have nothing to hide.
2. Let them know what you're up to before they ask. I'll chit chat a little and have my shotgun ready to handover before they even ask. If I just tagged a deer/duck/rooster/fish, I like to show it off. "Hey warden, check out the spurs on this bird!"
3. Don't piss into the wind. There's no denying that there's always some warden out there who should have retired 20 years ago and his attitude proves it. Don't fuel the fire by getting worked up and throwing accusations at him, even if you're right, he writes the tickets. Be courtious. Ask if there's been any suspicious activity going on lately in the area. Tell him you'll keep an eye out and you have the RAP number in your phone.
4. Carpe Diem. If none of the above works, blame your brother-in-law. Have his license plate number and vehicle description handy. If you can provide a warden with a little red meat and burn your in-laws in the process, seize the opportunity!
